What you can raise

  • A factual error in a verification report about you
  • A check you believe was run without your valid consent
  • A request for access, correction or erasure that was not answered properly
  • Concerns about how your personal data has been collected, used or shared
  • The conduct of a ClearBGV representative or field verifier
  • A delay that has affected your employment

Most issues are resolved fastest at first contact. Write to bgv_request@clearbgv.com or call 01204235953 with your name, the employer involved, the case reference if you have it, and a clear description of the problem.

We acknowledge every complaint within 72 hours.

Step 2 — Grievance Officer

If you are not satisfied with the first response, escalate to our Grievance Officer, appointed under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices) Rules 2011.

Step 4 — Data Protection Board of India

If you remain dissatisfied after exhausting our process, you may lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023. Exercising this right does not affect any other legal remedy available to you.

What we ask of you

Give us as much detail as you can — dates, names, the specific finding you dispute, and any document that supports your position. It materially shortens the time to a correct answer.
